Wildcats Gain Edge for Semi

WILDCATS will take the psychological lead into the Ipswich Division One semi-final after beating rivals Sports outright on Saturday.

Wildcats only needed six runs in their second innings to clam the outright win after their first innings 121.

Sports managed 53 and 71 and seemingly face a mountain to climb to turn things around.

Wildcats had Bronwyn Brown (35 not out), Kelly Verrall (24) and Danielle Silvester (22 not out) to thank for their big total.

But it was Kerryn Graham with the ball who really stole the show for the Cats.

Graham (pictured) produced figures of 6-19, which included a hat-trick, and 5-28 to leave Sports wondering what to do to reach the grand final.

But Graham, for one, is not expecting an easy passage.

"This year, other than TC United, it's been pretty even," she said. "So it has come down to each game.

"We'll have to work really hard."

Graham just hopes the ball will swing as it did at the weekend.

It was the prodigious movement through the air she was able to harness that caused Sports such trouble. …
