Gulliver's Travels Part of National Flight Relay

FOR Grafton girl Yvette Gulliver, there is nothing better than flying a plane so it was an easy choice for her to join the Woman Pilot's Relay of Flight 2015 to raise money for cancer research and celebrate female aviation.

Ms Gulliver will join female pilots from around Australia and participate in the first-of-its-kind flight relay.

General aviation enthusiasts, commercial pilots and military operators will cover more than 18,000km on pre-designated routes around the country over a six-week period to promote women in aviation while raising funds for the cancer council.

"Everyone has a baton that they pass on. We will take photos of the relay with an iPhone in the plane," Ms Gulliver said.

She said she felt privileged to join in the relay.

"I think it is a great idea. There are not many women that do fly," she said. "It is great to promote awareness that women can fly and also raise awareness for cancer. …
