Victim Honoured; Qld Police Remember Ex-Employee Mary Burrows after MH370 Loss

MARY Burrows lost her life on the doomed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 just over a year ago.

But a small memorial will ensure her memory lives on in the hearts of those she worked with for 17 years.

Queensland Police yesterday revealed touching images of Mrs Burrows's children at the unveiling of a memorial plaque at the state's police academy.

The small bronze memorial - inscribed simply "Mary Burrows, Administrative Officer, 8 March 2014" - will be a "permanent and dedicated place for Queensland Police Service academy staff members who have passed whilst serving," a police spokeswoman said.

The plaque is on a wall in the academy's chapel.

A small dedication service was held on February 27, about a week before the first anniversary of the disappearance of MH370.

The plane, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew left Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12.41am on March 8, 2014. It disappeared from the radar a short time later while flying over the South China Sea. …
