Centrals Hoping to Bat Their Way to Most Important Win over Fassifern

CENTRAL Districts haven't beaten Fassifern yet in this season's Division Two competition.

But now seems as good a time as any for the underdogs heading into the final starting today at the Ivor Marsden Cricket Complex.

Centrals advanced to meet Fassifern in the final after beating Northsiders in last weekend's semi-final.

Having claimed first innings points, Centrals had some early wobbles in their second dig before battling through to secure the win.

Cameron Osborne's 49 not out helped ensure his team got through.

The 21 year of from Eastern Heights has been with the club for 15 years and heads into the grand final with confidence.

"It was good to get a good hit-out," he said. "And good to get some time under the belt out in the middle."

With the final the only four-day game of the season, the ability to bat for long periods will be crucial.

In that regard, Osborne has faith his team can match the minor premiers,

"Being patient is the key," Osborne said. …
