TYNEMET Women's Football Academy defeated Hartlepool Sixth Form College 7-2 in a top-ofthe-table clash in the AOC Women's Category Two North East Division.

The first 10 minutes showed the nerves of both teams, neither being able to control the game.

TyneMet, however, took the lead with a 25-yard strike from central mid-fielder Carly Davies, who lobbed the Hartlepool goalkeeper.

Emily Glass then stole the ball at right back and played it down the channel.

She found winger Kati Donnelly who scored the second goal, driving in from the right wing and striking the ball into the Hartlepool net.

With the home side now in full control, they created chance after chance and it was not long before the third was scored, Melissa Park on target.

Captain Lauren Driver made the fourth with good pressing from the front, striking the ball into the bottom corner.

As the second period began, left-back Ellen Martin and left-winger Rhianna Telfer linked up well in wide areas and created another goal for Lauren Driver by delivering the ball into the box. …
