Evans Snatches 11 Medals at Titles; 16-Year-Old Leaves Championships with Largest Haul and Eyes Queensland Titles

SHANNON Evans is fast, agile, good in the water and an all-round fantastic competitor in lifesaving, but now the task gets a bit harder for the 16 year old.

Evans is weighed down by 11 medals he won at Wide Bay Capricorn Senior Branch Titles on March 7 and 8.

Having been to the championships before, he was not expecting to return with the largest haul of the carnival.

"Previously I got a few medals but never as good as that," he said.

"I wasn't expecting that at all, I wanted to do well in the lead up to states."

The Queensland Titles are in two weeks time, and Evans was back on the sand and in the water over the weekend brushing up his skills at the Tannum Sands Club Championships.

He again dominated the field, but this time it was a little easier than in under 17 at branch. …
