Patton's Beefs Up for Reopening Patton's Discount Meats to Reopen Wednesday

THEY'RE back! And aren't Patton's Discount Meats owners, staff and customers glad they are.

After 16 months, the popular Hooper Centre butcher shop will reopen for business next Wednesday.

"Sixteen months without a pay packet is hard slog," owner Russell Patton said.

Mr Patton and wife Sharon led a band of busy workers yesterday positioning, cleaning and polishing brand new equipment in readiness for the store's long-anticipated reopening.

"There's a little more floor space than before and we have reconfigured the shop design a bit," Mr Patton explained.

However, Mrs Patton was quick to point out that customers won't notice a lot of change since the business closed due to fire in November, 2013.

"We will be doing the job we always did. Why would we change it?" she said.

"The customers loved it, so we wouldn't change it."

Mrs Patton said many of the staff from the old shop would be returning in time for Wednesday's reopening. …
