A CHANCE to meet new people, have a yarn and occasionally pick up a bargain is what brings Warren Robinson to the Pig and Calf Sale almost every week.

Warren and his wife Vicki made the move to Warwick three-and-a-half years ago from Kyogle.

"My ancestors were actually among the first settlers in Warwick," Warren said.

"They came up here with the Leslies. But that is not why we moved here.

"We were looking for somewhere to retire and a house in Warwick was at least $50,000 cheaper than a house on the coast. It is a nice town so we moved here."

The couple now have a nice house in town, a bit of a change from running a beef cattle property in Kyogle for 24 years.

Vicky's parents live in Tenterfield and had told Warren stories about the Pig and Calf Sale in Warwick.

So once they moved here the couple made sure they checked it out. …
