Bridie Jackson & the Arbour Set to Release New Single

Alternative folk band, Bridie Jackson and The Arbour release their new single, Far From The Tree, next month.

The quartet unveiled the track in a live session for Dermot O'Leary on Radio 2 in February and are currently touring to promote their new material.

Far From The Tree will be released digitally on April 13, but the single will also be available on CD exclusively at the band's shows during their UK tour.

The pulsing strings and percussion in Far From The Tree interweave under Jackson's powerful yet haunting lead vocal, building tension until the track resolves into a warm and beautiful coda, which utilises the band's trademark vocal harmonies.

In contrast, the single's B-side, Final Lullaby, is a very sparse, plaintive arrangement of a song that Jackson originally composed for massed choirs to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

Recently announced as recipients of a Women Make Music grant from the PRS for Music Foundation, Bridie Jackson and The Arbour are using the funds to support the creation, recording and touring of their new material. …
