Soggy Easter on the Cards; Still Space at Inskip Pt but Don't Leave It to Chance

HOLIDAY campers hoping to pitch a tent at Inskip Point this long weekend need to hop to it and remember to pack the poncho, with wet conditions expected.

Online bookings yesterday revealed camping sites were still available.

Easter Friday is predictably busy with 374 camping spots free from a maximum availability of 2750.

That number increases to 395 on Easter Saturday and jumps out to 889 on Easter Sunday.

Come Easter Monday, 2145 places are free but campers are advised not to bank on many of those places lasting long, particularly if the rain eases.

Campers have traditionally enjoyed the start of the Easter long weekend before deciding whether to extend their stay.

A main player in this decision is the weather and that factor was playing on a lot of minds yesterday following persistent rainfall.

For those wanting a bit more luxury this Easter, holiday accommodation is close to completely booked out on the Cooloola Coast and at Rainbow Beach. …
