AS A parent, you want your child to be happy and healthy.

However, it can be a struggle sometimes with young children, especially when it comes to ensuring they eat substantial and healthy food.

It is important to teach your children about the benefits of consuming the right amount of fruit and vegetables from an early age, as this is something they should be aware of as they become independent later in life.

Always try to make sure they eat two serves of fruit and five serves of vegetables a day.

This lesson can be learnt easily through cooking with your children when they're young and making food fun and different.

Try to demonstrate to them how to make their favourite meals healthier with alternatives that boost nutrition, such as using a cauliflower base for pizza, or substituting potato for pumpkin on a shepherd's pie.
