EAST Stanley WMC became the second club to lift silverware this season when they won the Division One Cup - the Harkness Trophy - beating Oxhill Central 3-1 at Belle View Stadium.

Daryl Richardson gave East Stanley a half-time lead before Kai Hewitson made it 2-0. Oxhill reduced the arrears, Paul James scoring direct from a corner before Sean Hodgson restored East Stanley's two-goal cushion.

One point from their remaining five games will confirm the Division One championship for Consett Cricketers Ex-Juniors.

Barring an unlikely meltdown, the team which boasts a 100% record are all but there as a 2-0 win over Blackhall Mill and Chopwell Community, courtesy of strikes from Anthony Hutton and Carl Malpass, means they can get the title party started.

The only side who can mathematically catch Cricketers are South Moor Sports.

They defeated Consett Top Club 4-2, although they will need to hit double figures in all of their remaining games and hope Cricketers lose all theirs. …
