JESSICA Lee Minter wasn't joking when she said she was going into labour on April Fools Day.

Little Reagen Trinity Minter was delivered at Gladstone base hospital on April 1, weighing in at 3030g.

Ms Minter and her partner David Roberts said they were over the moon following the birth of their daughter, saying she completed their family.

"We didn't know the sex but we've had the nursery set up for a while," Ms Minter said.

"It's really special when she's crying and then she hears David's voice and it instantly soothes her."

Ms Minter said Reagen is the spitting image of her brother Tyson, who died when he was just six weeks old.

"He'll always be looking over her," Ms Minter said.

Ms Minter, who delivered Reagen via VBAC (vaginal birth after a previous caesarean) said the delivery had gone off without a hitch.

"This pregnancy was fine," she said.

"The last little bit was touch and go because bub's heart rate dropped but they didn't tell me that til after because they didn't want to scare me. …
