RESIDENTS of a Wurtulla street who stared down a seven-storey development are now trying to ward off a rumoured circus next door.

Kay and Terry Ebenezer, of Halyard Dve, have been unimpressed by news that a circus is coming to town behind their house.

The Ebenezers live next to vacant land which was subject to a seven-storey development proposal by Frog Global.

The proposal was later withdrawn and Mr Ebenezer said he and his wife understood a two or three-storey townhouse-style development was planned for the site.

But when Mr Ebenezer started chatting to men erecting a temporary power pole on the site, he was surprised to hear it was for a circus.

He said the location was not suitable for a circus.

"It's too close to residential houses and parking is going to be a problem, and if they've got animals, where are they going to be housed?" he said.

Mr Ebenezer said the site did not seem big enough to accommodate a big top, animal cages, circus workers' caravans, as well as public parking. …
