SISTERS Liberty and Somer Watson grew up on the Coffs Coast, surrounded by fresh air, salt water, Coramba bush doofs and all things that make a small town girl dream of oh so much more.

I've been lucky enough to meet up with Liberty and Somer and spend some one-on-one time caressing their collections prior to Fashion Week each year, and this year, the girls were presenting the Watson X Watson DAYWALKER Spring Summer 2015 Collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney.

The Watson sisters make the kind of pieces that are your anydays and everydays.

The kind of thing you can dress up, dress down, just so long as you're dressed in them. Soft fits, clean lines and a mix of silks, leather and the essential chambray denim, each of their collections are effortless and relaxed channelling the Mid North Coast vibe that recognises that not only does fashion need to look good it needs to be able to be worn in real life.

The DAYWALKER SS15 collection came down the runway on Monday afternoon, on opening day of the 20th Anniversary of Fashion Week Australia. With hair by Redken Australian, and make up by Curtis Collection, Helen Dowsley Lashes and Glow By Beca, the model look was light, airy beauty with a focus on big time sensuality, and a disco feel.

I managed to catch five with Liberty awhile back to chat about the Watson X Watson mindset.

What goes into the typical preparation for a Watson X Watson collection?

LW: Six months of really hard work! We often start with a feeling. Then once we agree (two headstrong sisters) on OUR feeling we sort fabrics, cut patterns, create prints and work long hours.

What advice would you give to those just starting out in the business/how did your time growing up on the Coffs Coast help to shape you and your sister? …
