PNG TRIP a Great Life Experience

RUGBY LEAGUE: A few Mackay Cutters have a nervous wait ahead of the weekend.

Not for an injury to heal or for a clearance at the judiciary, but for passports to come in the mail.

Alex Farrell is one Cutter hoping Australia Post does its part for his potential debut.

Farrell is named in an extended squad to take on the PNG Hunters in Kokopo on Sunday.

"Any opportunity is good," the Souths Sharks hard man said. "But to go over there and do it (debut) would be great."

Farrell has found good form in the local league despite an injury-interrupted pre-season.

He hasn't travelled overseas since a New Zealand trip as a child that he "doesn't remember much of".

"The boys have all said going to PNG was a great experience," Farrell said. "They are footy mad over there."

Coach Kim Williams said the squad was looking forward to the trip.

"They treated us like rock stars (last year), taking pictures and getting autographs," he said. …
