EVERYTHING about Gypsy is exotic.

When you walk into Gypsy's wholefoods shop at Eumundi's Organic Emporium, your senses will be tantalised by the delicious aromas of dried fruits, coconut products, herbs and spices, which she has sourced from around the world.

"My wholefoods stall is organic, natural, healthy and competitively priced," she said.

"I stock everything from nuts, like almonds, macadamias and cashews, to a wide range of dried fruits, seeds, pulses, grains, salts, syrups, oils, herbs and spices, all at the Eumundi Pavilion Market."

Other bulk super foods she stocks include chia seeds and pepitas.

Maca powder, another very popular item, is said to help with hormonal balance and energy levels.

Gypsy was inspired to open her new 2015 stall by her mother Fleur, who has started two long- term organic community co-operatives over the past 20 years in both home towns they have lived in.

"Success in business can be about the right timing for marketing your products," Gypsy said.

"I have started my business at a time when people are very health- conscious and looking for products that are gluten- free, dairy-free and wheat-free."

Gypsy -- a blues and soul singer -- is new to the world of being a sole trader this year and is learning as she goes.

"It is a steep learning curve and Eumundi is an environmentally- conscious town, which fits in well with my wholefood products," she said. …
