Doctor Who 'Set for Hollywood Regeneration' but TV Team Are against Movie, Sony Leak Reveals

DOCTOR WHO is set to be turned into a Hollywood blockbuster even though the show's writers do not want to make a film yet, leaked Sony emails reveal today.

BBC Television director Danny Cohen claims the series starring Peter Capaldi, pictured, could become a film under an eight-year plan to keep the franchise alive.

But the show's team are resisting and are "very hot under the collar" that they are not being listened to, one Sony email reveals. It is claimed Mr Cohen said there has been pressure to make it from BBC Worldwide, the corporation's money-making arm. Other emails claim some Oscars judges did not want 12 Years A Slave, directed by Britain's Steve McQueen, to win Best Picture because it was not patriotic enough to the US.

The details were included in a database of 30,287 documents and 173,132 emails uploaded to the WikiLeaks website after hackers stole them from Sony Pictures Entertainment, the company's movie division, last November. …
