SES Volunteers to the Hunter; Valley Members Head South to Help Out

THE Clarence-Nambucca State Emergency Service has deployed 23 members to the Hunter Valley region to help with the clean-up after the massive storms that have hit the area this week..

The wild weather that lashed the Hunter region led to more than 8500 calls to the emergency service and the amount of effort put in by the volunteers has begun to take its toll.

In true Australian spirit the Clarence-Nambucca SES has decided to step in and lend a hand to their struggling mates.

"We have sent 23 of our own volunteers to the Hunter to lend a hand," Clarence Nambucca SES community engagement coordinator Jenni Funari said.

"We could be sending more depending on how the situation in the Hunter develops and whether it worsens.

"We see this as a really good chance to give back to volunteers who have supported us through tough times recently.

"A lot of the guys in the Hunter have been run off their feet, and ours will bolster numbers and allow members down there a chance to rest. …
