IT IS quite certain Sawtell-Toormina will put a lot of points on Grafton in today's visit to Ellem Oval.

The irony is that it could be a case of Saint upon Saint should the Tigers lack numbers for the senior grade.

Sawtell-Toormina player-coach Jim Angel said he was taking a practical approach to the situation and his club was prepared to help out if the host club is undermanned.

"We'll go with 30 players for our needs, and if it's necessary to lend a couple to Grafton, that's not a problem," he said. "I want to see the game played.

"It's important for every-body that footy remains alive there and we're prepared to do our bit."

There have been huge changes to the league since Saints captured the flag last August.

Arguably, the standard is weaker, which should make a title defence easier.

However, that's not the way Angel is thinking.
