NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER (OTHER THAN AN ACQUISITION EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER) PUBLIC PATH CREATION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD BRIDLEWAY BLAYDON 120 On 12th May 2015, Gateshead Council confirmed the above order under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to create a public bridleway from Point A on the order map (grid reference NZ14475936) the bridleway commences on the east side of Spen Lane, High Spen, 70 metres north of its junction with School Lane, High Spen, to Point B on the order map (grid reference NZ14495938), and runs in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 412 metres to Point C on the order map (grid reference NZ14855948), where it continues for a distance of approximately 1183 metres in a south easterly direction to Point D on the order map (grid reference NZ15895902), where it then turns south across Spen Burn before continuing in a south easterly direction descending a hill through two bends and then proceeding in a southerly direction across the bridge over Low Spen Burn at Point E on the order map (grid reference NZ16345862) for a distance of approximately 675 metres. The bridleway continues in a southerly direction from the bridge up the incline, where it divides into two sections, the first section from Point E on the order map (grid reference NZ16345862) to Point F on the order map (grid reference NZ16345860) for a distance of approximately 38 metres and the second section from Point E on the order map (grid reference NZ16345862) to Point G on the order map (grid reference NZ16365860) for a distance of approximately 40 metres. At the top of the incline, at Point F on the order map (grid reference NZ16345860), the bridleway continues in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres to Point G on the order map (grid reference NZ16365860), and then proceeds in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 411 metres to Point H on the order map (grid reference NZ16705872). …
