THERE'S usually nothing funny about family inheritance disputes ... unless you're Paul Brennan.

The Kawana lawyer has chosen the sometimes ugly topic as the subject for his latest book and decided humour was the best way to get his message across.

Hang On To It Girl - the Wily Woman's Guide to Wills is Mr Brennan's 10th book after decades of experience as a solicitor.

He started his first blog - 101 reasons to kill all lawyers - seven years ago as a humorous look at the wicked lives of lawyers.

Mr Brennan said humour was his natural way of raising awareness of issues.

"Inheritance issues are hilarious if they're someone else's," he said.

"But people need to exercise common sense when dealing with family wills and the best way to reach out to them is to keep it short and entertaining."

The book features cartoon illustrations, which Mr Brennan drew himself.

The comical depictions of the family breakdown contribute to the satirical feel of the book, while targeting a serious issue. …
