MICHAEL John Davies must put up a $20,000 surety before he will be released on bail.

The 45-year-old was one of 57 arrested as part of a police operation targeting drug trafficking in Mackay and the Whitsundays.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer said there was a "strong case" against Davies during a bail application in the Mackay Magistrates Court.

Police intercepts detailed conversations involving Davies about a "bundle of $10,000" that was accidentally left in a vehicle and he was asked to hold on to it.

Mr Dwyer granted bail with residential and weekly reporting conditions.

However, he rejected bail for Lennon Russell Curtis and Alana Jane Lamberth, 31, when they each made a bail application because he considered them to be an unacceptable risk of committing further offences.

The court was told police intercepted 318 drug-related phone calls involving Lamberth.

All three, who are facing multiple drug-related charges including trafficking and supplying, were adjourned to June 19. …
