REPORTING crime over the phone is not ringing true with Gladstone residents.

An APN Newsdesk analysis of one month of calls to Policelink's 131444 hotline shows just 0.66% of reports stemmed from our region.

Between April 1 and April 30, 70,004 crimes were reported to the 24-hour service but only 467 came from the Gladstone region.

The contact centre in Zillmere deals with calls about non-urgent crimes. …
