RUNNING THE SHOP Channel 4, 8pm In this business-based challenge series, entrepreneur Hilary Devey persuades bosses from companies around Britain to leave their business for three weeks and let the staff take over. The first episode centres on family owned DIY homestore Taskers in Aintree. John Tasker leaves his staff PS30,000 of his own money to improve the business as he steps down for a few days. However, it remains to be seen whether cashiers Tom and Debs can win over a whole new market, or if a clever advertising idea will bring in much-needed customers.

THE SYNDICATE BBC1, 9pm After last week's opener, Kay Mellor's drama continues. With Amy still missing, Dawn and Andy call the police and the investigation into her disappearance gets underway.
