SPENNYMOOR nearly came a cropper against visitors Great Smeaton in the Cleveland and North Yorkshire Sporting Clay League last week.

Great Smeaton posted a 174 with Harry Carvey, Scott Fallon, Andy Pawlett all shooting 23s, but Dave Howarth shot a 24 to help Spennymoor to 179.

Oak Lodge had a comfortable evening's shooting as they beat visiting Stokesley 182-156. Andy Calvert shot a straight round for Oak Lodge, with Simon Fenwick scoring a 24 for Fox Hall.

Marne shot consistently to overpower Duke of Wellington 178-167. Andy Wilson was top shot on the ground with a 24 for Marne, with Andy Cribbings, Steve Boal and Paul Williamson joint top scoring for the Duke with 22s.

John Hutchinson shot a magnificent 25 out of 25 to help Urlay Nook edge Stokesley 175-172. James Reeve was high gun for Stokesley with a 24.
