RUGBY LEAGUE: After two and half years as Mackay Cutters coach, Kim Williams has announced he will resign at the end of the season.

Williams will move south to take the head coaching role with rivals CQ Capras in Rockhampton.

Leaving a proud legacy in the cane capital, Williams said he had more motivation than ever to end 2015 with a second premiership.

"It's certainly something I didn't jump into and it wasn't taken lightly at all," he said. "I am even more motivated now to finish on a winning note in season 2015 with the Cutters."

The 2013 Queensland Cup premiership-winning coach told his players at training on Tuesday night, where he was "humbled" by their response.

"Once the season has finished we'll celebrate what we've achieved, but it was nice to hear the well-wishes from the group," Williams said. "It's such a good squad both on and off the field and possibly the best I've dealt with in terms of camaraderie. …
