Dads Take on Lads - to Raise Money for Two Good Causes

DADS took on lads in a charity football match to raise money for two good causes.

The match took place at Stockton Riverside College's Billingham Campus and included players from Teesside amateur teams including Northfield Calor FC, The Ship Inn FC, The Stoney Oak FC and The Wynyard FC.

The event was held to raise funds for the Butterwick Hospice and the Great North Air Ambulance.

It was the second match organised by Claire Fisher and her husband David, after a similar veterans against youths event in December was a success.

Claire, an administration manager, explained how the idea to hold the original match came about.

She said: "David was in the pub a few months ago with his friend Andy Milner, who lives in Japan now but comes home two or three times a year.

"A lot of the veterans team played football together for different teams around Billingham, the Ship and the Stoney Oak, and they wanted to do something for a swansong. …
