Defence Key as Redmen Hit Road Seeking an Upset

AFTER knocking off Lismore by the narrowest of margins last round, the Australian Hotel Grafton Redmen take on competition frontrunners Wollongbar Alstonville at Lyle Park, Wollongbar today.

It will be another test of the Redmen's resolve against a side that has not tasted defeat since round eight last season.

In one corner the reigning premiers, who have the firepower to rack up big scores with their star-studded backline.

In the other corner the Grafton Redmen, a side still looking to add a big scalp to its resume in 2015.

Speaking ahead of the tough road trip, Grafton captain Sean Austin has a simple message to opposition teams.

"Don't write us off just yet," Austin said.

"We're probably going into the game as major underdogs but we're also going up there to send a message to the rest of the competition.

"If we stick to our game plan and defend well, I'm confident we can cause an upset."

There's no denying Wollongbar will enter the game as red-hot favourites. …
