About 30 Arrested for Drugs Biker Kingpin in Court

A BIKIE gang kingpin and more than 20 others allegedly involved in trafficking drugs will face Mackay Magistrates Court today.

Following 14 months of investigations into drug trafficking between Mackay and the Gold Coast, more than 30 search warrants were executed across the two cities by Taskforce Maxima and other police.

Yesterday afternoon 30 had been arrested and were set to be charged, although that number was expected to increase as more people were located.

In Mackay 24 people are of interest to police.

Police said methylamphetamine, MDMA pills, cannabis, synthetic cannabis and firearms had been seized.

Detective Inspector Terry Lawrence, of Taskforce Maxima, said the operation exposed the criminal activity of "outlaw motorcycle gangs" the Rebels in Mackay and the Black Uhlans on the Gold Coast.

"Initial investigations identified Rebels were getting supply from the Gold Coast and transporting it to Mackay," he said.

"We allege the amounts going back to Mackay on a regular basis were five ounces at a time of amphetamine and lots of 1000 (MDMA) pills at a time. …
