Northumberland's biggest free musical festival returns for its second year at Blyth Seafront with two chart-topping headline acts.

Toploader and Doctor and The Medics will headline this year's Northumberland Live along with eight of the region's top local bands.

Sharing the bill will be folk-pop fivepiece -kosoti-; Blyth singer-songwriter Melissa Rose; the popular Tyneside band The Caffreys; festival regulars The Tony Bengtsson Band; acoustic duo Shaw:Clark Project; acclaimed North East band Muddy Line; punk-folk band Driven Serious; and South Shields four-piece Rose Parade, who are the covers band alter-ego of Jen Stevens & the Hiccups.

Thousands of people attended last year's inaugural event to watch The Christians, Cattle and Cane, Stan, ICENI, Alistair Sheerin and Joe Taylor perform outdoors, and organisers are hoping that Northumberland Live 2015 will be even bigger and better.

This year's one-day festival is taking place at Blyth Links on Saturday, June 27 and will start at 11am and run through until 9pm. …
