West End Stars Perform Live in Trafalgar Square

THE public will get a sneak preview of forthcoming musicals as well as performances from long-running hits at this weekend's free celebration of the West End stage.

West End Live returns to Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square for the 11th year, with star turns including Beverley Knight and Matt Cardle from Memphis The Musical.

Other festival highlights include Kimberley Walsh singing from the musical Elf which opens this autumn, and former Blue boyband member Simon Webbe appearing with songs from another new family show, The 3 Little Pigs. Beautiful -- The Carole King Musical, Gypsy, Sunny Afternoon and future openings including Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Dreamers and American Idiot will make their West End Live debuts in the line-up boasting almost every blockbuster show in London, as well as English National Opera.

More than 500,000 people are expected to pack into Trafalgar Square while the Spiegeltent in Leicester Square will host make-up and costume sessions, and there's a chance to stroke the puppet/animatronic dinosaurs from the Dinosaur Zoo show and take a selfie with a giant Olivier Award. …
