Family Finds Life on the Road Rolls along in a Caravan; Be Prepared for Challenge

WHAT makes someone pack up their house, fit everything they need into a caravan and travel the country with two kids aged seven months and three years?

Dani Avery has been asking herself that every day since she and her husband Jason, an IT manager in Toowoomba, packed up their life and took to the open road with their two boys.

"Some might say madness, others might say in search of 'the dream'. Maybe it was a bit of both," she wrote in her feature blog "Caravan Adventures" for the Mamabake website.

Proving the caravanning life isn't just for the grey nomads, the young family is more than halfway into their six-month trip, having travelled more than 10,500kms.

"So far we've travelled 5500kms from Queensland, down the east and south coast of NSW, inland to Canberra and the Snowy Mountains, camped through the Victorian high country through to Melbourne, along the Great Ocean Road, and almost across to the SA border. …
