Urologists on 6,000-Mile Drive to Discuss Men's Health

A recent survey by Orlando Health found that while 80 percent of men remembered the make and model of their first car, only about half could remember their last visit to a doctor.

Sijo Parekattil and Jamin Brahmbhatt, urologists with a practice in Clermont, an Orlando suburb, are trying to do something about that.

"Men don't take very good care of themselves," Parekattil said in an interview Thursday afternoon. "We tend to wait until something goes wrong."

To spread the message that men need to focus on their health, Perekattil and Brahmbhatt are driving across the country. They plan to cover 6,000 miles in 10 days in Parekattil's Tesla Model S, which they say is a guy magnet.

"Every time we go somewhere in the Tesla, all these dudes come and ask questions about the car," Brahmbhatt said. "With the car, we lure men and educate them that taking care of your health can be fun."

They'll be making more 60 stops on their journey, including 17 major stops, for which they have lined up local contacts to help them market their appearances. …
