Back on His Bike after Epic Struggle; Greg Tries to Give Back to Charity

GREG Clutton would not wish what he went through on his worst enemy, let alone his family and friends.

The Pelican Waters local "had the stuffing" knocked out of him during a gruelling course of radiation therapy four years ago.

The treatment was a success, but it left him on a long road to recovery.

"I had a little lump on the side of my face and I thought nothing of it," Mr Clutton said.

"But I had a tumour in the proto gland on the side of my face which was subsequently removed, but then I had radiation treatment for six weeks, five days a week."

The treatment left Mr Clutton a shadow of his former self. "It knocked me flat for 12 months," he said.

"I was used to being fit and healthy and getting out there, but it really knocks the stuffing out of you."

Mr Clutton said, throughout his cancer battle, he was lucky to have the support of his family, doctors and Cancer Council Queensland.

Now back to full health, Mr Clutton will give back to the people who helped him by taking part in the 2015 Rio Tinto Ride To Conquer Cancer. …
