SUPERMARKET customers can now pick up designer shapewear when they do their weekly food shop as a survey showed it is now an everyday item for millions.

Body-sculpting underwear was once the best kept secret of many women, but the research reveals 51 per cent of females now admit to owning it.

The study of 1,000 women aged 18 and over found that 16 per cent said they wore a shapewear garment every day, and 42 per cent did so more than once a week.

Almost a third of respondents admitted having three or more different pieces so they could have support under any outfit. Beyonce, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have all revealed how they have used shapewear to accentuate their curves.

The research was released by Sainsbury's to coincide with the launch of its first range of Gok Wan control underwear. The flamboyant designer, 40 who is known for helping women embrace their figures and love their bodies has created the Gok for Tu Shapewear collection. …
