Fun Is on the Cards for a Crafty Group

Article excerpt

THERE was more fun and games this week during the Widgee Craft Group gathering as members tackled bits of knitting, crocheting, butterflies, flowers and all manner of paraphernalia, ready for next week when members will decorate their tree for the Winter Trees on Mary project.

Once the nitty gritty was completed for the morning, scrapbooking materials were out of the cupboard with card-making the assignment for the day.

Tutor Karen Wells assisted members with new pop-ups and greeting cards.

Next week members are to meet in Mary St at their designated tree at 8:30am.

"Why not come along and give a helping hand, some advice, or just add some fun to the party," Widgee correspondent Lynlie Cross said.

"Because it's sure to be an amusing morning for all concerned and we're hoping the shoppers in Mary St will add some hints and highlights along the way."

Jeanette rolls on

MEMBERS braved the chill in the Memorial Hall on Monday, playing some top shots on those beloved Widgee greens.

After three games it was Jeanette who topped the score board with an outstanding 62 points.

Christine took out second spot with 53 points, followed by Russell with 50.

Fourth place was a tie with Dianne and Eric both scoring 44 points.

The club is still seeking new members, either novice or experienced, so if you're interested in having a go, come along next Monday and give them the once-over.

Play begins at 9am with a break for a "cuppa" and a bit of social chit-chat around 10am.
