PAUL Hanagan says it would be "a privilege" if he could claim a third Stobart jockeys' championship after a double at Newbury on Friday.

The 2010 and 2011 champion moved on to the 45-winner mark after claiming victories aboard Tasleet and Sakash.

Although he was keen not play down his chances of taking the championship, which runs between May 2 and October 17, the 34-yearold stressed he is not in a position at this stage to commit himself to an all-out assault.

Hanagan said: "It would be a privilege to be champion jockey again.

"I will just keep doing what I can and if it comes my way it would be great.

"It is very hard for me to say I will be able to go for it as I am in the same position as both James (Doyle) and William (Buick) in that we have big commitments and I have to go where Sheikh Hamdan's horses go so it can be hard for my agent to book around me.

"Having the experience of winning it before means a lot. It is hard work but it is worth it. …
