SUNDERLAND Ladies' profile in Women's Super League 1 will be further enhanced if they become the first side to beat leaders Chelsea tonight.

The unbeaten Blues have dropped just two points from their seven games and are five points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, Sunderland tucked in behind the Gunners in third spot, level on points.

It is a top-three clash that should attract a healthy crowd for the 6.30pm kick-off, head coach Carlton Fairweather keen to make the Hetton Centre a fortress.

Sunderland have won their last three games on home soil, their only defeat a 1-0 setback against Manchester City in their home opener in April.

Chelsea, who have splashed out on a fee believed to be between PS40,000-PS60,000 for England striker Fran Kirby (pictured), will be the Black Cats sternest test so far.

"Chelsea will be a massive test for us," said Fairweather. "They have a host of international players, are unbeaten and top of the league. …
