Kiara Paints a Picture of Her Life with Tattoos

SOME people like to hang their favourite artworks on their walls but Rockhampton's Kiara Hampton likes to wear hers instead.

The local mother-of-one wears her tattoos with pride and now has a title to flaunt with them after winning the Miss Inked Beauty modelling competition at Zodiac Nightclub earlier this month.

Kiara, 21, said she entered the competition with her friend and didn't expect to take the title.

"My friend convinced me to enter the competition with her but I never thought I'd place so I was really shocked when I heard my name," she said.

"The judges judged a number of things including how you look with tattoos so I guess I presented myself well enough to win the competition. It was such a fun competition and for my tattoos to be appreciated and the main focus of the event instead of being discriminated against because of them.

"I have between 10 and 15 tattoos and I've received a lot of looks from people who associate tattoos with bad people but being a tattooed woman doesn't change the person I am, the type of mother I am and what I do in my life. …
