A NEW bed and breakfast at Pinnacle is just one of a large number of development applications put to the Mackay Regional Council recently.

Last month 46 development applications were submitted, the highest number since October 2014.

So far in July there have been 27 applications.

Planning and development portfolio councillor David Perkins said while the value of the applications was below the value of those seen last year, the number received was encouraging.

He said an application lodged by Better Pet Vets was one of the major submissions in June.

"Better Pet Vets was involved in a devastating fire in Central Drive in 2014 and it is great to see they've submitted a development application for a new home across the road,' he said.

New home approvals were down since their 2013 heyday but were up on the lows of March this year. …
