SWAPPING his uniform and ambulance for lycra and a bike, flight paramedic Anthony Clark will take on the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Mr Clark will ride for team Vision Crusaders, which is the second top fundraising team for the ride, raising money for the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. This year the ride will go from UQ St Lucia to Canungra and back in the 210km two-day event on August 15-16

"This is my third year in the Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer," he said.

"It's one of those things with cancer, I don't think that we are going to find a cure anytime soon, in the next few years, but at least this research that QMIR does, that all this fundraising goes towards, at least it gets people back on their feet a lot quicker."

The first year Mr Clark was in the ride coincided with his younger sister's own cancer diagnosis. …
