SHE was the Great North Run's "one in a million" - and now Tracey Cramond will wear number one million as she returns to the race that propelled her into the limelight.

The Butterwick Hospice fundraiser, from Darlington, made history in 2014 when, in the half marathon's 34th staging, she became the millionth person to cross the finish line.

And since then she has had a whirlwind year, being taken across the world to compete in the Round the Bays run in New Zealand and starting, then running, the Morrisons Great North 10K.

Now she will be taking on the Great North Run again in September - with organisers The Great Run Company revealing she is to wear a special goldcoloured one million race number. She greeted the news with delight and said: "It's fantastic. How very honoured I am."

The mum-of-two became the event's star last year despite coming in one hour and 22 minutes after winner Mo Farah. …
