QPR supremo Les Ferdinand has reiterated that Charlie Austin will not be sold for less than PS15million.

However, the situation is reaching the end zone with Austin understood to be frustrated by the summer-long saga.

QPR have not got their asking price, Austin is facing an uncertain future, while Newcastle are still a striker light.

However, Ferdinand has stated that Austin will be offered a new deal if the Turn to Page 70 FROM BACK PAGE 26-year-old is not sold in this window.

That would mean interested clubs would not be able to go back to the striker in January or next summer and look to sign him on a free transfer.

Ferdinand, a hero in these parts as a player, said: "The price is still PS15million and the only firm bid that has come in is still from Leicester.

"Everyone feels that bids are going to come in for him, it's just a matter of when.

"But if a club doesn't pay the fee, then we will offer him a new contract to get him to stay. …
