Glamorous Debut for Teenage Models

TWO Ipswich teenagers arrive in their chosen career in true style this week gracing the catwalks of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival.

Students Gabrielle Pirie and Ella Begg, both 16, have broken into the super-competitive industry with a debut in the prestigious Brisbane event.

But the success hasn't been overnight. Gabrielle from West Moreton Anglican College and Ella from Ipswich Girls' Grammar School said it had been two years of juggling studies with intensive development courses, walking classes, photography classes and test shoots.

At 14 years of age, Gabrielle walked in to Vivien's modelling agency and she said the hard work, castings and interviews were all worthwhile.

"Right now I'm more excited. I'll probably get really, really nervous when I'm there on the night doing the parade but I'm just over the moon right now," Gabrielle said.

"I still get really good grades at school. …
