Cameron Rouse Takes out Coolum Bursary

SUNSHINE Coast Theatre Festival's youth section was held last weekend and adjudicated by Sally McKenzie.

In the secondary school section, the Adjudicator's Award, Best Actress and the $1000 Coolum Theatre Company Bursary went to writer and actor Cameron Rouse, from Entropy (Labelled). Best Ensemble was Anything But Blue, and Best Directors were Little Seed's Johanna Wallace (The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza) and Entropy's Lili Guy-Goddard (Labelled).

Best Play was Entropy's Labelled. In the primary school section, the Adjudicator's Award went to the cast of Revolting Rhymes. Best Ensemble was Little Seed Theatre Company for Waterspout Hero.

Best Actor was Little Seed's William Law for The Fantasists, Best Actress Kristen Brewer, from Little Seed for Waterspout Hero, and Best Play was Revolting Rhymes. A View From The Bridge

NOOSA Arts Theatre will screen Arthur Millar's tragic masterpiece A View From The Bridge next month.

A Young Vic Production directed by visionary Ivo van Hove, the play has a stellar cast featuring Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price.

Eddie's jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret: one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal. Noosa Arts Theatre hosts the play on Sunday, September 6, at 6.30pm and Monday, September 7, at 10am. Book at livetheatre.com.au.

NOOSA Arts Theatre will transform into Beecham House - an English countryside estate where the world's most-famous musicians and singers enjoy their sunset years - when it stages the hit comedy Quartet next month.
