Another Successful Year for Students at Heaton Manor

MANY congratulations to our Year 11 students who completed GCSE and Btec examinations this year. Like our A-level results day there were many happy and delighted faces as students opened their envelopes on GCSE results day.

The staff and the governing body at Heaton Manor School are incredibly proud of the many outstanding academic and personal achievements among our Year 11 students this year. Our near-100% pass rate means that once again no student leaves Heaton Manor without a qualification which continues to reflect our inclusive ethos of ensuring success and the best life chances for all students, whatever their starting point.

The number of the highest A/A* grades that have been achieved this year continues to reflect Heaton Manor's excellent academic success. Here are just a few of our Year 11 students who achieved results at the very highest academic level.

Robert Hudson achieved an incredible 13 A* grades. This included, among others, separate sciences, computing, history and Spanish. He achieved beyond an A* in further mathematics. Robert will be continuing his academic studies at Heaton Manor studying sciences, mathematics and further mathematics. Henrietta Young achieved nine A* grades, three A grade GCSEs and one B grade GCSE. This included, among others, A* grades in biology, chemistry, physics, history, French and further mathematics. Henrietta will also be continuing her academic studies at Heaton Manor and she intends to study mathematics, chemistry, French and drama.

Jennifer Porteous achieved six A* grades, six A grades and one B grade GCSE. This included A* grades in RE, art and design, mathematics, further science and geography. Jennifer intends to further her academic study at Heaton Manor School with A-levels in mathematics, further mathematics, physics and psychology.

Joe Rainford achieved six A* grades, five A grade GCSEs and two B grade GCSEs. …
