Camps May Be Tiny, but Are Big Success!

MORE than 100 children attended Tiny Woods Academy's summer football camps which were hailed a success by both children and parents.

The camps, staged at Stobswood Welfare, included a new goalkeeping masterclass for the first time.

All the youngsters who attended had a fantastic time participating in fun and technical practices.

They focused on ball manipulation which allowed them a greater frequency of touches on the ball, individual possession and team possession and creating space as an individual and as a team.

They were also encouraged to be creative when on the ball and learned new fundamental skills and were allowed to plan and run their own session.

The youngsters also hit 'Ashes Fever'and played footballcricket and had a Premier League Tournament to kick off the new football season.

FA-licensed coach Jamie Dixon said: "'Well done to all the children who participated in the camps and every child had a smile on their face, which is what it is all about.

"The standard of football at the camps was absolutely brilliant, the children really improving their technical development'.

After the camps the academy hosted its new goalkeeping masterclass.

It was designed specifically for anyone budding to be a goalkeeper and covered all the important aspects of shotstopping. …
