'ABOUT BOATING SAFELY'

Flotilla 14-4 Jacksonville Beach presents "About Boating Safely" on Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 at Captain's Club, 13363 Beach Blvd. Participants will learn boating basics, navigation, in-water survival, knot tying, federal and Florida boating laws and regulations and more from U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors. A federal and Florida course examination will be given at the conclusion of the class, and those who pass will receive a U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Completion and a State of Florida Boater's Card. CLAY ELECTRIC POWER COST DECREASE

Clay Electric Co-Op customers who use 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity will see their power bill decrease by $1.10 beginning this month. It is dropping to $116.80 per 1,000 kilowatt-hours from $117.90. The decrease results from a lower Power Cost Adjustment because of a credit Clay Electric receives from its wholesale power provide, company officials said.
