There's No Drama about the Queen's Sense of Style

TURNING up on a worst dressed list from time to time is just a hazard of life for your typical celeb. A-list, D-list or Z-list model, actress or pop star, at some point you are going to get your outfit spectacularly wrong or suffer a wardrobe malfunction.

Even if neither of the above happens, well, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Unless you are the Queen that is. I can't recall anyone ever having anything bad to say about any of Her Majesty's outfits.

Granted there is always the suspicion that dissing her dress might land you a spell in the Tower of London. But potential treason issues aside, you have got to admit, she knows what looks good on her.

The hats, the frock coats, the gloves, the pearls, those fabulous little black Launer handbags that she hooks so deftly in the crook of her arm.

This week Her Majesty became the longest-reigning monarch in British history, surpassing the record set by her great-great-great grandmother Queen Victoria of 63 years and 217 days.

Imagine it... almost 64 years of having to look good in public and never being able to wear black other than during periods of mourning (the Queen wears block colours so she can be seen at all times). It must be like getting ready for a wedding.

Every day.

That's not to say she doesn't have plenty of help.

Credit for the Queen's always immaculate look is generally awarded to Angela Kelly.

The Liverpool-born docker's daughter has been the Queen's dresser since 1994 managing a team of up to 12 people. Angela not only helps put together the monarch's outfits but designed the outfit she wore for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding and all of the dresses for her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. She also made the christening gowns for both Prince George and Princess Charlotte. …
